39th BMW BERLIN MARATHON

September 29/30, 2012

At the 39th BMW BERLIN MARATHON will be held on 29 and 30 September 2012 nearly 50,000 runners and skaters from over 120 nations embark on the adventure marathon. The start-finish area between the Brandenburg Gate, Reichstag and Victory Column in the center of the capital, the run is on a sightseeing tour of Berlin with the climax at the end, the passage of the Brandenburg Gate shortly before the finish.

Around one million spectators along the course, participants cheer enthusiastically, over 70 live bands for mood. The route is flat and is considered the fastest marathon course in the world. Since 2003, there are four world records were set, most recently in autumn 2011 by the Kenyan Patrick Makau (2:03:38 hours).
